I have the pleasure in partaking in a group show this month at the wonderful Fontanelle Gallery here in Portland. The show is entitled Queer Gaze. Opening is this thursday at 6pm. 205 SW Pine Street!COME!!!
“This show offers a new examination and response to theories of “male gaze”, as originally described by Laura Mulvey as the cinematic depiction of voyeurism and objectification of a female by a heterosexual male viewer. Queer Gaze explores the gaze from woman to woman or queer to queer, as well as the way that many photographers use their own visage or that of their friends to subvert traditional expectations of portraiture.”

Other amazing queers involved:
Sarah Baley (Brooklyn), Erica Beckman (Brooklyn), Tammy Rae Carland (Oakland), Zackary Drucker (LA) & A.L. Steiner (Brooklyn), Luke Gilford (LA), Grit Hachmeister (Berlin), Angela Jimenez (Brooklyn), Molly Landreth (Seattle), Amos Mac (San Francisco), Finn Paul (PDX), Emily Roysdon (NYC/Stockholm), Lorenzo Triburgo (PDX), and Azsa West (PDX).
this might have been the most relaxing part of hanging out in new york. with the revamp of time square underway you can now sit and just watch from a seating area. its like the 4th of july without the fireworks. it ruled.
the cutest queers i ever did see.
this year we took it to the streets. the consensus was enough of organized fireworks. but disorganized street fireworks is an entirely different story. it just seems obviously much safer.
everyone is always taking pictures at multnomah falls. even my peeps. sometimes even me.
but i got distracted
there was a point walking up the falls trail that i realized, “hell no i can’t walk this!” so i waited for them to return. and made some art on my leg.
